For more than 30 years, Bryan Vess has helped people, businesses and government entities with their business disputes. Since beginning his own firm in 2004, Mr. Vess has recovered more than $70 million dollars for his plaintiff clients.
Mr. Vess has been recognized by San Diego Magazine as a Top Lawyer in Business Litigation and by The Legal Network as a Top Lawyer in California. He represents a variety of clients in high stakes commercial litigation, mostly in cases involving wrongdoing by professional service providers. He has also defended developers, brokers, biotech companies, and entrepreneurs in “bet the business” lawsuits.
Mr. Vess has been invited to make presentations on the use of technology in the courtroom for the National Institute of Trial Advocacy, the American Inns of Court, and the Consumer Attorneys of San Diego.
Mr. Vess has also lectured in state bar sponsored continuing education programs in San Diego and Orange Counties.
Mr. Vess has been designated as an expert witness in litigation matters on multiple occasions.
Mr. Vess is also experienced in government, having lived and worked in Washington D.C. on various occasions. He was a press assistant on Capitol Hill for three US Senators. He also clerked for a judge on the United States Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit, regarded as the “second most important” court in the country. Thereafter, as a lawyer, Mr. Vess represented many government entities in litigation matters.
Mr. Vess and his cases have been featured in the nation’s leading legal periodicals, including American Lawyer, The AmLaw Daily, Law360, the Daily Journal, and The Recorder, among others.
Mr. Vess received his Juris Doctor degree, magna cum laude, from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law, finishing in the top 1% of this class (#5 of 486). While at Hastings, Mr. Vess finished first in his first-year section, was awarded the Milton D. Green Top 10 Citation and automatic membership on the Hastings Law Journal, and graduated as a member of the Order of the Coif. Mr. Vess was sworn into the California Bar by US Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia in a private ceremony in his chambers.
